Birmingham, AL — MedSym, Inc. has been selected to participate in the fifth annual American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Electronic Health Records (EHR) Lab to be held June 4-6 at the 2011 ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL. This is the fourth year in a row MedSym has been selected to demonstrate the MedSymEHR version 2.1 . The MedSymEHR version 2.1 software is an ONC Comprehensive Ambulatory Certified EHR. The screening process, which begins many months prior to the event, requires compliance for specific EHR functionalities specifically for oncology and hematology and includes a live application demonstration to the ASCO committee.
MedSym will offer extensive product demonstrations of the company’s MedSymEHR version 2.1 software. MedSymEHR version 2.1 is a comprehensive electronic health record for managing patient information in the hematology and medical oncology practice environment. Demonstrations will be conducted in the designated EHR Lab area on the ASCO Exhibit Floor. MedSym will also be providing product demonstrations on the ASCO Exhibit floor at booth number 18097.
Built using industry standard communication protocols and an open architecture design, MedSymEHR version 2.1 links medical oncology and hematology data in one fully integrated system, making administrative, clinical and financial information readily available when and where it is needed within the practice and also with Reference Laboratories, Chemistry Analyzers, and healthcare portals. MedSymEHR version 2.1 is comprised of an integrated practice management and electronic health record on a single MS SQL database.
The ASCO EHR Lab provides a unique opportunity for vendors to demonstrate their EHR to ASCO members and Annual Meeting attendees, including showcasing their product’s ability to perform clinical decision support, chemotherapy ordering, and Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) case selection. Visitors to the EHR Lab are able compare different products, while also gaining hands-on experience with the latest EHR technology.
