Las Vegas Cancer Center Selects MedSym for PM, EMR Suite

MedSym Solutions, a leading provider of electronic health records systems (EHR) and practice management (PM) software for small to large oncology practices, announced today the addition of Las Vegas Cancer Center, a two-physician, two-nurse practitioner hematology/oncology practice, to its client roster.

“This agreement demonstrates MedSym’s ability to deliver on its goal to enable mid-size group practices to benefit from the same sophisticated technology as large practices. Consequently, Las Vegas Cancer will implement the full suite of solutions in the ONC-ATCB Certified MedSymEHR v2.1,” stated Preston James, Executive Vice President of MedSym Solutions.

Las Vegas Cancer Center of Las Vegas, Nevada will implement MedSym’s PM and EHR system practice-wide for its two sites to document patient encounters, automate prescribing, and increase office efficiency through a system designed specifically for hematology and oncology practices.

“We evaluated many vendors, but MedSym’s superior clinical content for oncology/hematology and established practice management module most closely matched our practice needs,” stated practice administrator Julie Konie. “Our goal is to operate in a paperless environment, and we believe MedSym will take us there.”

Nutan Parikh, MD, the physician founder of Las Vegas Cancer Center, said that “the MedSymEHR system will allow our doctors to have access to the EMR from the hospitals, from our outreach clinic, and from home. The great use of Internet access and the exceptional client references gave us great confidence in MedSym.”

According to Brian Driskill, CEO of MedSym Solutions, “Las Vegas Cancer is the fourth cancer care practice in the Las Vegas area to select MedSym. We look forward to a rapid and successful implementation to help the practice enhance patient care and improve healthcare delivery costs. Las Vegas Cancer Center’s selection of MedSym as a partner is a solid validation that our technology solutions meet the needs of oncology practices.”
